Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 24, 2026Last Updated: September 24, 2026
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes how One Life Enrollment LLC (“we,” “us” or “our”), an independent insurance agency that operates The Life Policy Desk, collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. We are not an insurance company.
In this Policy, the “Site” means the website at thelifepolicydesk.com, including all of its pages. The “Services” means the services we provide by telephone: free reviews of life insurance you already have, and help comparing and applying for new coverage, including final expense (burial), whole life and term life insurance, from several insurance companies. “Personal information” means information that identifies you or that relates to, or could reasonably be linked with, you.
This Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Site, through telephone calls to the numbers shown on the Site or in our advertisements, and in the course of providing the Services. It does not govern information that an insurance company, Google or any other third party collects under its own privacy notice, except to the extent this Policy describes what we disclose to them.
This Policy is effective as of September 24, 2026. It is incorporated into, and forms part of, our Terms of Use. By using the Site or the Services, you acknowledge the practices this Policy describes.
Summary. The main points of this Policy are set out below. The full text that follows controls.
- You reach us by telephone only. The Site has no forms, accounts, logins or chat, and it does not ask you to type in personal information.
- What you tell a licensed agent on a call is used to provide the Services, including any insurance application you decide to make.
- Calls are recorded and may be monitored.
- The Site uses advertising measurement technology from Google. If you call us by tapping a call button in a Google advertisement and the call results in the sale of a policy, we report the telephone number you called from to Google (see Section 5(d)).
- We do not sell personal information for money.
2. Information We Collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. We collect it in the ways described in this Section.
(a) Information You Provide on Calls
The Site does not include forms, accounts, logins, chat or email sign-up. You give us personal information only by speaking with a licensed insurance agent by telephone. Depending on the Services you request, the agent may ask for, and record in our call-handling and customer-relationship systems, the following:
- Contact and identity details: your name, telephone number, date of birth, gender, postal address and, if you choose to give it, email address.
- Underwriting information: your height, weight, tobacco use, health history and medications, which insurance companies use to decide whether to offer coverage and at what price.
- Beneficiary information: such as the name of the person you wish to name and that person’s relationship to you.
- Existing coverage: details of life insurance you already have, when you ask us to review it, such as the insurance company, the type of policy, the amount of coverage and the premium.
- Application information: if you decide to apply, the information the insurance company’s application requires. This may include your Social Security number and the bank account or payment details for your initial premium. We send this information to the insurance company you are applying to.
If you give us information about another person, such as a spouse or a beneficiary, you represent that you are permitted to share it with us for these purposes.
(b) Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site or call us, the following information is collected automatically:
- Server log data. The Site is hosted by a cloud hosting provider that logs standard request information, including your IP address, browser and device information, the pages requested and the date and time of each request.
- Visit record. We keep our own record of each visit. It may include advertising click identifiers (such as Google’s “gclid”), campaign and UTM tags in the link you followed, the referring page, the landing page and the version of it you saw, your device type, your browser and user agent, your IP address and the approximate state we infer from it, and the telephone number displayed to you.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 5.
- Call details. When you call a number shown on the Site or in our advertisements, our telecommunications provider and call-handling system record details of the call, such as the number you called from, the number you dialed, and the date, time and length of the call.
The state we infer from your IP address is approximate. The Site does not request access to your device’s precise location.
(c) Information From Third Parties
We may receive personal information from:
- Google, which reports to us on calls placed through Google forwarding numbers and on the performance of our advertisements (see Section 5(c));
- our telecommunications and other service providers, in the course of routing and recording calls; and
- insurance companies, about the status of an application you submitted through us, such as whether a policy was issued.
Separately, an insurance company you apply to may obtain information about you from consumer reporting agencies, the MIB (an information exchange used by life and health insurers), prescription-history databases and your medical providers. The insurance company does so under its own notices and the authorizations you give as part of your application, and its own privacy practices govern that information.
(d) Sensitive Information
Some of the information we collect is sensitive, including your Social Security number, your bank account or payment details, and your health history and medications. We collect sensitive information only when it is needed to provide the Services you request, such as assessing which coverage you may qualify for or preparing an insurance application. We use and disclose it only for those purposes and as permitted or required by law. We do not use health information for advertising, and we do not include it in any report to Google.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- to answer your questions and provide the Services, including reviewing coverage you already have and comparing the options available to you;
- to obtain quotes, to prepare and submit insurance applications at your request, and to follow up with you and the insurance company about them;
- to return your call or follow up on your inquiry, as described in Section 8;
- to operate, maintain and secure the Site and our telephone systems, including routing calls to available agents;
- to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, including connecting calls to the visits and advertisements that led to them, as described in Section 5;
- to improve the Site and the quality of the Services, including by reviewing call recordings for training;
- to keep business records and meet our legal, regulatory, licensing and compliance obligations, including insurance record-keeping requirements;
- to detect, prevent and respond to fraud, security incidents and unlawful activity, and to protect the rights, property and safety of you, us and others;
- to verify your identity when you make a privacy request; and
- for any other purpose disclosed to you when the information is collected, or with your consent.
We may also use aggregated information that does not identify any individual, such as the number of calls an advertising campaign produced, to evaluate and improve our advertising.
4. Call Recording and Monitoring
Telephone calls with us are recorded and may be monitored for quality assurance, training and compliance purposes. Where the law requires it, you will hear a notice at the beginning of the call that it is being recorded.
Some states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington, require the consent of every party before a call may be recorded. By continuing a call after hearing the recording notice, you consent to the call being recorded and monitored. If you do not consent, you may end the call at any time.
A recording captures everything said on the call, which may include sensitive information. Recordings are stored with our call-recording service provider, retained as described in Section 9 and protected as described in Section 10.
6. How We Disclose Information
We disclose personal information only as described in this Policy and as permitted by applicable law, including the insurance privacy laws described in Section 7. We may disclose personal information as follows.
(a) Insurance Companies
To obtain quotes and to submit applications that you request or authorize, we disclose the information needed for those purposes to the insurance companies concerned. Each insurance company handles your information under its own privacy notice.
(b) Service Providers
We use businesses that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting, telecommunications and call routing, call recording, customer-relationship and records management, and analytics. Service providers receive personal information only as needed to perform services for us and are subject to confidentiality obligations.
(c) Google, for Advertising Measurement
We disclose information to Google through its advertising tag and in conversion reports, as described in Section 5. This includes, for a call placed through a Google forwarding number that results in a policy sale, the telephone number the call was placed from, the date and time the call began, and a conversion value that we assign. Google processes this information under its advertising data processing terms.
(d) Legal, Regulatory and Protective Disclosures
We may disclose personal information:
- to state insurance departments and other regulators and governmental authorities;
- in response to a subpoena, court order or other legal process, or as otherwise required by law;
- to law enforcement, where required or permitted by law;
- to detect, investigate and prevent fraud; and
- to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and to protect the rights, property and safety of us, you or others.
(e) Business Transfers
We may disclose personal information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of all or part of our business or assets, including a sale of the agency’s book of business, subject to applicable law.
(f) With Your Consent or at Your Direction
We may disclose personal information with your consent or at your direction, for example to a family member or another person you ask us to speak with about your coverage.
(g) Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. Some state privacy laws define a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information broadly enough to include making it available to an advertising company for something of value other than money, or for targeted advertising. Under those definitions, our use of Google’s advertising tag and our conversion reports to Google may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing.” If you live in a state with such a law, you may opt out by emailing or calling us using the details in Section 17. See also Section 12 and Section 13.
7. Insurance and Financial Privacy
Personal information we collect in connection with an insurance transaction, such as a quote or an application, is “nonpublic personal information” protected by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (the “GLBA”) and by state insurance privacy laws, many of which are based on model laws of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties except as those laws permit, for example to process a transaction you request or authorize, to service providers that perform services for us under contract, to protect against fraud, to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, or with your consent.
We do not disclose nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes. We disclose health information only as needed for the insurance transaction you request (for example, to the insurance company reviewing your application), with your authorization, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
Each insurance company provides its own privacy notice, which governs the information it receives in your application or holds as your insurer. Some state insurance privacy laws also give you the right to see, and to ask for correction of, recorded personal information collected about you in connection with an insurance transaction; see Section 11.
We do not service insurance policies. Premium payments, beneficiary changes, claims and changes to a policy, and requests for information an insurance company holds about you, must be directed to the insurance company that issued the policy.
8. Telephone and Text Communications
When you call us, we may return your call or follow up about your inquiry at the number you called from or at another number you give us.
We do not make marketing calls or send marketing text messages using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice without your prior express written consent.
We maintain an internal do-not-call list. If you ask us not to call you, we will add your number to that list and honor your request. You can make this request to any agent during a call or by contacting us as described in Section 17. If you receive a text message from us, you may reply STOP at any time to stop further text messages. A do-not-call or stop request remains in effect regardless of anything else in this Policy.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, keep business records, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, and in any case for at least as long as insurance record-retention laws and other applicable laws require.
Retention periods differ by type of record. For example, application records and call recordings may be kept for the periods insurance regulations require, while website visit records are kept for as long as they are needed for advertising measurement and record-keeping. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
10. Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you where and as required by applicable law. Please do not send sensitive information, such as your Social Security number or health information, to us by email.
11. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Wherever you live, you may:
- ask us to stop calling or texting you, as described in Section 8;
- manage cookies and Google advertising settings, as described in Section 5(e);
- ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete personal information about you, although we may keep information that insurance record-retention or other laws require us to keep, or that we need for another purpose the law permits; and
- opt out of disclosures that state law treats as a “sale” or “sharing,” as described in Section 6(g).
Your state may give you additional rights, described in Section 12 and Section 13. For information an insurance company holds, such as your application or policy records, contact that insurance company.
To make a request, email us at info@thelifepolicydesk.com or call us at the number shown in Section 17. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and if we decline a request, in whole or in part, we will explain why where the law requires.
12. California Residents
This Section supplements the rest of this Policy for California residents, to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), applies to us. The CCPA does not apply to personal information collected, processed or disclosed under the GLBA or the California Financial Information Privacy Act, and the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act also governs information collected in connection with insurance transactions. As a result, much of what you tell us on a call about a quote or an application is governed by those laws rather than the CCPA, while information collected through the Site generally is subject to the CCPA.
(a) Categories of Personal Information We Collect
- Identifiers: name, postal address, telephone number, email address, IP address and online identifiers such as advertising click identifiers.
- Personal information described in California Civil Code § 1798.80(e): such as your Social Security number, bank account or payment details, insurance information and medical information.
- Characteristics of protected classifications: such as age, date of birth, gender and medical conditions.
- Commercial information: such as coverage you already have and products you considered or applied for.
- Internet or other electronic network activity: such as browser and device information, user agent, pages viewed, the referring page, the landing page version and your interaction with our advertisements.
- Geolocation data: the approximate state inferred from your IP address (not precise geolocation).
- Audio information: call recordings.
- Sensitive personal information: Social Security number, financial account information given for premium payment, and health information.
(b) Sources
We collect these categories directly from you on calls, automatically from your browser and device, from Google, from our telecommunications and other service providers, and from insurance companies, as described in Section 2.
(c) Purposes
We collect, use and disclose each category for the business and commercial purposes described in Section 3, including providing the Services, processing insurance applications you request, measuring our advertising, securing our systems and complying with law.
(d) Disclosures for a Business Purpose
- Insurance companies, at your direction: identifiers, § 1798.80(e) information, characteristics of protected classifications, commercial information and sensitive personal information.
- Service providers: any of the categories above, as needed to perform services for us.
- Google: identifiers (including IP address, click identifiers and, for a policy sale on a call placed through a Google forwarding number, the telephone number the call was placed from), internet or other electronic network activity, and commercial information (the fact and value of a conversion).
- Regulators, courts and law enforcement: any category, where required or permitted by law.
(e) Sale and Sharing
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Under the CCPA, “sharing” means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, and a “sale” can include a disclosure for other valuable consideration. To the extent our use of Google’s advertising tag and our conversion reports to Google is a “sale” or “sharing,” the categories involved are identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity, and commercial information, and the recipient is Google. You may opt out by emailing or calling us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
(f) Sensitive Personal Information
We use and disclose sensitive personal information only to process the insurance requests you make and for other purposes that the CCPA regulations permit without offering a right to limit. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you.
(g) Retention
We keep each category of personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in Section 3, and for at least as long as insurance record-retention laws require, as described in Section 9.
(h) Your California Privacy Rights
Subject to the CCPA’s exceptions, you have the right to:
- Know and access: request the categories of personal information we collected about you, its sources, our purposes, the categories of third parties we disclosed it to, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold;
- Delete: request deletion of personal information we collected from you;
- Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of sale or sharing: direct us not to sell or share your personal information; and
- Limit: where applicable, limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
(i) How to Exercise Your Rights
You may submit a request by email or telephone using the details in Section 17. To verify your identity, we will ask you for information that we can match against our records, such as your name, the telephone number you called from and the approximate date of your call. We may ask for more information for requests involving specific pieces of personal information or sensitive personal information.
You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may require the agent to provide your signed permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us, unless the agent holds a power of attorney under California Probate Code §§ 4121 to 4130. We will respond within the time required by the CCPA.
(j) Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights, including by denying you the Services or providing them at a different level of quality.
(k) “Shine the Light” Disclosure
California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
13. Residents of Other States
(a) State Consumer Privacy Laws
Several states have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws. Depending on where you live, and to the extent those laws apply to us and to your information, you may have the right to:
- confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain access to it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information;
- obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format; and
- opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Many of these laws exempt information that is subject to the GLBA, or exempt financial institutions subject to it, so they may apply mainly to information collected through the Site. To make a request, contact us as described in Section 17.
(b) Appeals
If we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to it or by contacting us with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line of your email. We will respond to your appeal within the time required by applicable law and tell you what action we took and why. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the Attorney General of your state.
(c) Nevada Residents
We do not sell covered information, as Nevada law defines those terms. Nevada residents may nonetheless send us a request to opt out of future sales by email, using the details in Section 17.
14. Children’s Privacy
The Site and the Services are intended for adults 18 years of age or older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child, please contact us so that we can delete it.
15. Third-Party Sites and Services
The Site may link to websites and services that others operate, such as Google’s Ad Settings, and the Services involve insurance companies that operate their own websites and systems. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third parties. Information you give to a third party, or that a third party collects, is governed by that third party’s privacy policy.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date at the top. If we make a material change, we will give any additional notice that applicable law requires. Changes take effect when posted unless we state otherwise. Please check this page from time to time for the current version.
